Steal My Heart

I've been listening to a song a lot in the past few weeks called, "The Secret Place" by Phil Wickham. The imagery of being in a secret and safe places comes from Psalm 91:1: "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty."

While I love this song because the lyrics are solid and the melodies are beautiful, one line in particular really stands out to me: "I'll sing to You all the ways You stole my heart."

God has shown us the most incredible and perfect love. The way in which He loves us should steal our hearts. We should be amazed and captivated by the sacrificial and selfless love that He expresses through His gospel and through His daily providence. We should be filled to a point where we just overflow with God's love and pour it out onto others.

As children of God, we reside in The Secret Place. He holds us in the shelter of the Most High; He protects and restores us. Our broken lives are made new. When our wells run dry and our flame is dying out, we go to God who renews and fill us.
