Family and Children’s ministry has had a busy few months. In early October we took a group of children to visit a gymnastics club in Hamilton. We were treated to having a coach take us around to different stations. We spent some time on the trampoline, sponge pit, balance beam and obstacle course. It was a great opportunity for our Calvary Kids to meet up and have some fun, physical activity. The parents had a chance to catch up as well! We also had our first family gym night of the season. It was a great turnout for some floor hockey, basketball and bucket ball. We topped the evening off with a trip to Tims. If you weren’t able to join us this time, we are having another gym night in the New Year. Watch for details on it.
As we now begin to look towards our Christmas program and prepare ourselves for a busy season, I am filled with expectancy and appreciation. We have a church and a faith community with which we can gather, grow and learn. A place where our children can be part of a Sunday School where they are free to learn God’s Word from dedicated and enthusiastic teachers. Each week our teachers prepare lessons, crafts, object lessons, or games to share events and characters of the Bible. They bring the material to life and demonstrate how these truths are important and relevant to our lives. I mean, where else can you create a rainbow in a glass jar, build a city, make sheep, and have Bible characters visit? There is always something happening downstairs on a Sunday morning. I am grateful for our ministries and teachers and look forward to what’s ahead. Please continue praying for our children’s ministry and church families.
This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)
