As I begin to write this week’s blog, it is another dark and foggy day. Although beautiful on certain landscapes, I will be happy to see the clear sky again soon. Today I am reminded of a verse in Psalms.
Psalm 119:105 is a simple verse, yet so significant to our Christian walk. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”.
What a great mental picture this verse constructs. With every step we are offered guidance, direction and light in the darkness. It’s a beautiful image of the Bible as a source of light. Whatever path of life we are on or whatever we come up against, God’s word will be our guide.
In our Children’s Ministry we encourage learning of ‘remember verses’ as we call them. We usually review the same verse for four to five weeks. We believe it’s important that our children have an opportunity to hear the word and understand how to apply it to their lives.
Are you allowing God to be the light that guides you each day?
On one of the ministry sites I like to use for additional activities and resources there is a list of scripture for families and children. Feel free to have a look at the list of simple verses that works through a whole year.
Be encouraged today.
