VISIT CALVARY BURLINGTON
Coming into a new church for the first time can be unnerving. We want to give you some information about what you can expect, and answer some of the questions you may have.
Every Sunday we start serving coffee and tea at 9:30am. The service begins at 10:00am, and it lasts until approximately 11:20am. Afterwards we have something we call Calvary Connects, a time to have some light refreshments and get to know some of the other people who attend.
If you have young children we suggest arriving by 9:50am so that we can check your children into the Nursery or preschool classes. As you enter the building you can go directly downstairs where you will be met by our friendly volunteer staff. At 10:00 am the toddlers (age 2 to 4) take part in JAM (Jesus And Me) and our JK/SK class begins.
When the service begins in the auditorium on the main level, the worship team leads us through a few songs, and then children in grades 1-5 are dismissed to their Sunday School class. Your child's safety is important to us, so all kids in nursery up to grade 5 will be signed in and out of their programs. Sign in is really easy - the host (the person giving the announcements) will tell the parents and kids to head to the back of the auditorium and sign in to their class, then the teachers will walk the kids downstairs while the parents return to their seats and continue with the morning. Don't forget to go downstairs and get your kids at the end of the service!
Just before the message time students in grades 6–8 go downstairs for a special time of going deeper in God's Word. These older kids don't need to be signed in or out, and they will come upstairs at the end of the morning to meet you in the auditorium.
To make things as easy as possible, you can fill out the child info sheet ahead of time and bring it with you when you sign your child into their class. Click here to download the form.
Do you have good coffee?
Yes! We have great coffee! Sundays we serve coffee and tea at 9:30am, and again after the service. You can also bring your own coffee into the service with you.
Where can I get more information about the church?
You can look at our statement of faith here, and you can also stop by the Welcome Centre in the foyer to ask questions, grab a church brochure, and pick up a free Calvary water mug.
What can I expect in a Sunday service?
Each week we sing a few songs and hear a message from the Pastor based out of the Bible.
What kind of music will I hear?
We have a full band that leads us in contemporary worship songs as well as some traditional favourites.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code, so you'll see people wearing casual clothes like jeans and T-shirts, as well as business-casual clothes.
